FIT offers an extraordinary cabinet of one of the most elegant women in the world.

"She is one of - if not the - most elegant woman's life," said Tom Ford chief designer and Daphne Guinness. And many others that Guinness heir agree. The elegant is the theme of the new exhibition at the Museum at FIT Daphne Guinness, which opened last Friday and runs through Jan. 7.

The exhibition will include Guinness and a wardrobe was designed by his apartment in New York in mind. The exhibition will be organized by Daphne Guinness and Valerie Steele, director and chief curator of the Museum at FIT.

It reportedly took two years to create and present more than 100 garments and accessories for Guinness. These include Alexander McQueen, Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld, Azzedine Alaia, Dior, Givenchy, Lacroix, and Valentino, Dolce & Gabbana, Rick Owens, and a futuristic style of young designers like Gareth Pugh. Including clothing collection is that Guinness was designed by me and it "demonstrates his love of uniforms."

"While Guinness has inspired some of the world's top designers - Karl Lagerfeld to Valentino - she says" is not a muse, "but as" a bee "flitting from one designer to another. This is demonstrated by the large variety of designers whose work will be exposed, "said an ITF statement. "A close friend of the late Alexander McQueen, the exhibition will feature more than two dozen McQueen clothing that have never been shown."
