Wines Miss Scully Dodgers Home Opening With a Cold Mailing

Hall of Fame broadcaster Vin Scully to miss the first game at home in the Los Angeles Dodgers' only the second time in 63 years due to severe cold, according to the command of Major League Baseball.

Scully's experience as a commentator on the Dodgers is the longest in the history of sports broadcasting, in accordance with the guidance of the media. It relies on the house and will not be available for today's game against Pittsburgh, the Dodgers said in a statement.

Charley Steiner and Steve Lyons will call the game on television, and Rick Monday will manage the rights to the radio.

Scully called the "Dodgers opened the season in San Diego on April 5.

The only house that opens the Dodgers, Scully missed 84 years since joining the team was in 1977 when he called the masters golf on the television network, according to ESPN.com. Scully began with the Brooklyn Dodgers, New York and moved with the franchise to Los Angeles in 1958.

Scully was elected as the new media wing National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1982. He called the best game abandoned Don Larsen, Sandy Koufax in 1956 in 1965 and Dennis Martinez in 1991, and 19 non-strikers.

Scully is Not The First Game at Home Dodgers

Scully is Not The First Game at Home Dodgers: Legendary Los Angeles Dodgers announcer Vin Scully didn’t call yesterday’s home opener because of a cold. The team said Scully was suffering from a severe cold, and missed the game under doctor’s orders. Scully, 84, announced last month that he would reduce his regular-season travel, visiting only Phoenix and cities within California. Scully missed a Dodgers home opener only one other time during his 63 years announcing for the team, in 1977, when he was called the first round of the Masters golf tournament for network television.

Wines Scully Voice For All Ages

Vin Scully A Voice For All Ages: Oh, no. This was my first reaction after learning that the Los Angeles Dodgers announcer Vin Scully broadcast to miss a home game the team on Tuesday. It was announced that he was suffering from a severe cold, and doctors told him to stay home. Maybe when you're 34 you just get their share of Kleenex and ignore the advice. When you're 84 you stay at home.

It was only the second time in 63 years that Scully was not the first Dodgers home game. It's a bit like Charcot and Cal Jr. Rikpen up when it comes to trail the game of baseball.

My, uh, about the reaction on the basis of wondering if Scully was worse than anyone else had to give in, or if it was a century marked the beginning of a new trend, where he will have to miss more games than the 2012 season rolling. We all know that nothing lasts forever, and that Scully is close to retirement. But no one wants to see what happened.

Fans have been luckier than most of the Dodgers with a beautiful voice and Scully describe what smart home game with them for decades. Those of us who live elsewhere and only to Dodger games on the radio regularly, and had the opportunity to see and hear on television about the national events for decades to know what fun having man says to you, or is it may be better to talk to you. We caught him outside the visitors to the old game of the week, listening to the All-Star Game and Game World Series.

For me there is nothing better than to be there when it comes to professional sports. TV allows you a lot, because none of us can not be everywhere. Radio is very handy when you go somewhere else. Baseball is the best sports radio. It has a long history of connecting people to the game, which dates back to 1920. In addition, although it is difficult to remember, for three decades, radio has been more than a TV in the delivery of the game.

Scully's love in Los Angeles and has affected several generations of wonder with its emissions. For many in Southern California, Scully, the Dodgers. He relates the life and turned to the grandfathers, fathers and sons. Major television team in the league in many major cities, the league was kinship, even if it is not the same durability as Scully.

I will always be listening to Curt Gowdy youth at Boston Red Sox games, and I liked Ned Martin for many years that I grew into adulthood.

Yankee fans will lobby for his old best friend, Mel Allen live. In the same way Tiger fans in Detroit, of course still miss Ernie Harwell. Bob Prince was the favorite in Pittsburgh. Milo Hamilton, Houston people (including 84 years he has been in play since 1953, with interruptions and more teams that Scully). Harry Caray was a legend in two cities, St. Louis and Chicago. The late Ron Santo, moving the Hall of Fame this summer for its game at third base for the Chicago Cubs, was just as popular for his years in the broadcast booth. Red Barber (speaking of the Dodgers, in Brooklyn) and Jack Buck Cardinals with two Unforgettables. So, Bob Uecker, the player, comedian and actor on the national stage, which is still part of the Milwaukee Brewers.

This magic is created between the broadcaster and fan. Some of these slogans. Some of them have a calming voice. Diffuser informant, who runs the fan-to-date, it takes a team, the club and describes the action of the fan can not go to baseball stadium itself. He is in a position of trust, but it should also be interesting.

Scully wine was associated with the Dodgers over the Dodgers were in Los Angeles. Having spent 63 years with the team, no doubt, will make you one institution.

Andrew Bynum is Growing Mixed

Furious, Mike Brown, Andrew Bynum in the immature timeout.

In the center of the Lakers only three points to make rash at the top of the key with a few seconds left on the clock. Nevertheless, almost Bynum expressed no remorse for the Lakers 104-101 victory Tuesday over whether Golden State Warriors. One day he sat down with 9:33 remaining in the third quarter, Bynum smiled and imitated his release. Except for one or two minutes in the fourth quarter, which featured two riders, the relay again and missed a free throw, Bynum was on the bench. Even during periods of inactivity, Bynum refused to stand up and join the team huddles. And when all was said and done, Bynum said he is considering making more three-pointers, despite the post Brown says the opposite.

In an interesting twist, Kobe Bryant admitted that he can relate to the fate of Bynum. And we're not talking about Bryant sitting in four of the last six minutes of the Lakers 102-96 loss Sunday in Memphis. In this game, Bryant said, to put out on the bench, and then refuse to challenge Brown. But on Tuesday, Bryant told reporters that the three points Bynum "was not a big problem for me," because he showed interest in the development of his game, and the coaching staff should be more understanding of this count.

Bynum, of course, need to test their limits. That is why he is constantly reading books on self-improvement. That is why he received various treatments for his surgically repaired right knee is healthy. That's why he always works with Lakers assistant coach Darwin Ham to build its database and reading the double team better. That's why Brown suggested last week that Bynum would be cool to play with the choice and rolls.

Taking a three-pointer just after the introduction of disposable uprising at the end of the Lakers' loss to Memphis is not illustrated Bynum test its limits. This shows that it is ridiculous to take a picture outside the context of the offense. Night Bynum threw that ill-advised three points against the Warriors, it provided almost everything. His 11 points proved underachieving considering how the front line depleted Golden State remains. Bynum five rebounds showed his lack of aggressiveness on the boards, Pau Gasol as he took 17 of them. And showed the behavior of the bench Bynum can not understand why such a blow can hurt his team in close games.

Just when it seems, Bynum is a turning point in its development, an incident which shows that he still seems a long way. Last week, he responded to the release of high-fiving against Houston teammates and the fans just before leaving the court. This season is almost removed from office arm push JJ Barea, he received four game suspension to open the 2011-12 campaign. There is also, of course, once he was caught in a disabled parking spaces.

All of these incidents appear isolated, but it is not. He paints a picture of Bynum is constantly taking a step back only after two steps forward. And, like his attitude on the bench and in the comments after the game, Bynum, obviously do not understand that behavior is delayed from reaching their full potential.
