The Jets came from an extremely large family (17 children overall) and were comprised of eight of the family's brothers and sisters Leroy, Eddie, Eugene, Haini, Rudy, Kathi, Elizabeth, and Moana Wolfgramm (their parents originally emigrated to the U.S. from the South Pacific nation of Tonga, in 1965, but their offspring were raised in Minneapolis). From 1986 though 1989, the Jets enjoyed several dance-pop hits (tops being "Crush on You" and "You Got It All"), as well as several full-length albums, two of which (their 1986 self-titled debut and 1987's Magic) obtained gold and/or platinum certification. But like all past bubblegum acts, the Jets' shelf life proved to be fleeting, as the hits dried up shortly thereafter (the first member to leave the group was Eugene, who split in 1988 to form Boys Club with Joe Pasquale, going by the name Gene Hunt). Although little was heard from the Jets during the early '90s, most of the group had re-formed by the latter part of the decade as a more gospel-oriented outfit, issuing such albums as 1997's Love Will Lead the Way. By the dawn of the 21st century, the other brothers and sisters of the family who were too young to join in on the fun during the '80s had formed their own group, imaginatively called...the Jets.
One of the hottest groups of the "Golden 90's Era" was the Leaders of the New School". This group of four hailed straight out of Long Island! (Owwwwwwwwwwwwwww, for those of you who don't know, your girl LaFemme is a Strong Island native.) The band members were Charlie Brown, Dinco D, Cut Monitor Milo, and none other than the infamous Busta Rhymes. The group got their start touring with Public Enemy. They got their break, when they appeared on a Tribe Called Quest's hit single "Scenario". In 1991 they released their first album, entitled A Future Without a Past, which included the hits "Case of the P.T.A.", "Sobb Story" and "The International Zone Coaster". Their second and last album was T.I.M.E., released in 1993, which stood for "The Inner Mind's Eye". The album was less acclaimed than their debut, but spawned rap hits "What's Next" and "Classic Material". Following their sophmore album, the group split up.Charlie Brownwas jealous of Busta and called him a "Show Stealer". ****Femme's Time out: Charlie you can't be getting mad because Busta was going in on every verse he wrote & delivered 100%. You were supposed to STEP YA GAME UP B! Charlie B, Dinco, and Milo's fame was very limited, while Busta on the other hands career Sky rocketed to the top. In 1996, the guys made a guest appearance on Busta's solo album "The Coming" I read one of Bust's recent interviews and he stated that he doesn't speak to any of the former members at all! He even called Dinco a "Dickhead"! (Busta... BE NICE) lol

SWV was that female group that every girl wanted to be when they got older. Their style of music was dope , Their songs had everyone falling in love , and their music will never be forgotten. They were one of the Top 10 best R&B groups of the 90's and even had a Double platinum album. One of my all time favorite SWV song has to be "Rain" which came out 1998 my first year in High School. It's a nasty day in NYC , it has been raining all day non-stop and the first thing that came to mind was this song. Here goes the video i hope you enjoy it !!
"Dial My Heart" was the jam! I believe I was in 5th or 6th grade at the time. Still playing vinyls. The Roger Rabbit was the dance out, and these 4 boys won the hearts of many little girls. I had a huge crush on Hakim.
The Abdulsamad brothers, better known as the boys, Khiry, Tajh, Hakim, and Bilal were multi-talented. Not only were they electrifying on the stage, they wrote songs and produced themselves- Motown's youngest producers ever. Nobody but insiders knew what happened to The Boys, as they seemingly vanished from the face of the earth. I thought that Motown dropped them, but to my surprise they dropped Motown.
Believe it or not The Boys are still in the entertainment business. They relocated to Gambia on the West Coast of Africa after being inspired by Alex Haley's "Roots". Only Hakim and Bilal made Gambia their place of residence.
Today Khiry lives in Los Angeles working in film and video production. Tajh lives in Atlanta, Georgia as do their parents, and is working in merchandising. With the help of mom and dad, they invested in real estate and owns Grand Oak Villas, a retirement community in Pensacola, Florida. Hakim and Bilal operate to reording studios in Gambia, where they produce themselves and locals.

I've been a fan before his video debut in "Back to the Grill" w/ MC Search! If you youngsterz never saw that video, no need to search, I got that right Hurrrrr! This is when he was Nasty Nas! Glad he got rid of the Nasty, it was soooo generic to me. I actually always called him Nas!
