The untimely representation of the lily was revealed in a cabin in Amnisos, Crete that dated back during the Minoan Period. Lily is the Minoan's sacred lily flower. The lily is a special feature of the Great Minoan Goddess Britomartis or Dictynna. Her dominance in Crete flourished until one day an inexplicable misfortune came about in the Minoan civilization. Her sect was gradually absorbed into the religion of the Greeks. Then she later became the ancestor of Greek Artemis. The Greeks believe that lily was dedicated to the wife of Zeus, the goddess Hera. The early myths claim that when Zeus became the father of Hercules from the mortal woman named Alceme, he desired his son to acquire divinity more completely. In order for Hercules to be fully immortal, he carried him to Hera while she was drugged to sleep. He placed the baby at Hera's breast and Hercules was nursed. When the drug was gradually losing its effect, Hera woke up and found the baby lying on her. To her surprise, she hurled the baby away from her. Then her milk came gushing along the heavens and created the Milky Way. There were also a few drops that fell to the earth. They say that the first lilies blossomed from those drops.
